1. How many gardeners are there?
Mill Dene Garden is family owned and run. We have a part-time gardener with additional help cutting the grass.

We also outsource expertise occasionally when needed.

2. Do you offer guided tours of the garden?
We no longer offer short talks, instead we prefer to let you wander about the garden at your own pace.

3. Are dogs allowed in the garden?
The cats have asked me not to allow dogs in the garden, but we are happy to find a shady spot for your car and some water so that your dog is comfortable, or maybe we can tie him up somewhere

4. When is the best time to visit?
We are currently only opening throughout May and June. See the Garden Calender under the Seasons in the Garden tab to se what is best then.

5. Are children welcome in the garden?
Very much so, we have a garden trail for the under 12s which is fun, however parents must be aware that the mill pond, swimming pool and the sluice cut are dangerous so please do not let them out of your sight.

6. How long does it take to see the garden?
At least an hour and a half to really enjoy our special brand of serendipity! You are welcome to stay all day until closing time, if you wish: many do!

7. Can we bring a picnic?
Please ask us and we will show you our favourite picnic spot, but not in the garden generally.

8. Are coach parties welcome?
The garden is no longer accepting coach parties.

9. What else is there to do in the local area?
 Please see our links page.

10. Is the house lived in?
Yes, it is a family home and not open to the public

11. Where is the garden nearest to Mill Dene to visit?
Batsford Arboreteum is 3 miles away and Sezincote is the same, and Hidcote 5 miles

12. What kind of soil do you have at Mill Dene?
The soil is alkaline, over clay and in the north garden it is ‘Cotswold brash’, our own special really horrible soil!

13. Can we stay at Mill Dene?
Sadly no, Wendy no longer offers B&B.
